What is a 18650 battery?
The 18650 battery is 18mm x 65mm in size. The 18650 battery code dedicated to the size of lithium-ion batteries with many manufacturers such as Panasonic, Sony. It has become the new gold standard for replaceable and rechargeable batteries.
The 18650 battery provides the performance of a lithium-ion battery, with capacities between 1800mAh to about 3500mAh and a capacity of 3.7 volts.

The rechargeable 18650 battery provides the best performance of whatever rechargeable battery consumers are using.

You can’t simply buy 18650 batteries out of the price by just looking at the capacity (in milliamp hours or mAh).
The right battery depends entirely on what you are using for that product.
How to choose the right 18650 battery for the device
Having multiple 18650 lines is not a standard battery. They are not made equally or made for special, different equipment.
The most important feature to consider when looking at a 18650 battery is the continuous discharge rating (CDR), also known as the ampere capacity.
CDR is the rate at which current measured in amperes (A) can be pulled out of the battery without overheating.
To find out which battery type is right for you, you will need to combine your battery’s CDR with the energy consumption associated with your device.
If you select the wrong battery, the batteries will overheat. The heat will damage the battery, reducing its overall lifespan. Overheating can even cause batteries to explode, leak, or damage your device.
Fortunately, there is a direct relationship between CDR (A) and battery capacity (mAh). The higher the capacity, the lower the CDR.
That means devices that consume less energy can take advantage of higher capacity batteries. Hungrier devices will need to use lower capacity batteries in order to safely draw current.
At the time (June 2020), the maximum current CDR that can be reached in the 18650 battery is 38A at 2000mAh.
Some bogus manufacturers claim 40A or 35A ratings at 3000mAh or above, but this is not a reliable rating.
